Isabela State UniversityโCity of Ilagan Campus, together with the Local Government Unit of the City of Ilagan, has officially kicked off its first International Conference on Sustainable Solutions in Engineering, Health, Education, and Technology, set to run from September 17 to 19, 2025, at the City Hotel, Alibagu, City of Ilagan, Philippines.
The event officially commenced with the Entrance of Colors headed by the ISU-Ilagan ROTC Unit, followed by a prayer led by Dr. Zach Chamberlaine M. Corpuz, Director for Academic Related Affairs.
In his welcome message, Engr. Alfonso R. Simon, Cluster Executive Officer of the Isabela State University-City of Ilagan Campus, stressed that the event will not only center on academic discussions but also on building friendships and connections.
"The true measure of this gathering lies not only in the researchers that we will be presenting but also in the connections and friendships that we build and the vision we share for a better future," said Simon.
Furthermore, ISU President Dr. Boyet L. Batang, duly represented by Dr. Joan Tomas-Ruiz, inspired participants through an inspirational message telling of the importance of this event as an avenue for innovative ideas and building partnerships.
"May this event bring us together to exchange ideas, share strengths, and build partnerships that can outlast the conference itself," Ruiz expressed.
In addition, through his inspirational message, Hon. Dr. Josemarie L. Diaz, City Mayor of the City of Ilagan, highlighted that innovation leads to development, challenging the participants to take part in the dissemination of information and development of solutions in resolving environmental issues.
"Innovation is the key to development," Diaz emphasized.
Moreover, Engr. Maribel S. Abalos, Director for Research and Development of ISU-I, shared a comprehensive overview of the conference, followed by the acknowledgement of participants by Dr. Jeoffrey Lloyd R. Bareng, University Director for Research and Development, represented by Dr. Freddie O. Orperia, College of Education Dean, ISU-I.
In addition, the Abbayao Pangkat Mananayaw also performed an intermission number to the said conference.
The international conference, centered on sustainability, innovation, engineering, and health, served as an avenue for critical discussions, collaboration, and partnership aimed at achieving sustainable growth and progress.
